Late Saturday night Lehigh County transmitted the box for a reported house fire at 6512 Memorial Road in Upper Macungie Township sending stations 8, 25, 56 and Medic 62.
Chief 8 arrived and reported heavy fire to the rear of the house. Engine 8 arrived in the alley in the rear and stretched two hand lines, one darkening down the fire on the deck and the second going around to the front of the house.
Chief 8 had Lehigh County transmit the second alarm sending stations 3, 81, Rescue 11 (F.A.S.T.) and cascade 32. Engine 56 arrived in the front of the building and stretched hand lines to the second and third floors where they encountered fire conditions.
Chief 8 special-called for manpower from stations 31 and 26 above the 2nd alarm. Truck 8 positioned on the Alpha Delta corner and took the bucket to the roof to get a vent hole cut.
The fire appears to have started in the enclosed porch on the deck (2nd floor) and extended vertically into the attic and roof line. Truck 25 positioned on the Alpha Bravo corner and went to the roof and cut a vent hole on that side of the house.
Everyone was safely removed from the apartments prior to the arrival of the fire department.
