At 20:30 Lehigh County trasmitted the box for 1680 East Race Street on a structural fire sending Station 33, ABE Rescue 2 and Medic 75.
Chief 33 (Knoll) arrived and reported a working fire and transmitted the second alarm for the Crafco, Inc. asphalt company. Knoll had a fire behind the tar tanks.
Airport Rescue 2 arrived and positioned at the rear of the building while Engine 33 and Ladder 33 positioned on the bravo side of the building and stretched multiple hand lines while Rescue 2 attacked the fire in the back.
Lehigh County Haz-Mat was summonsed to the scene due to the close proximity of the oil tanks. The tanks did not leak.
It took nearly 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
