Just before 8:30AM, Lehigh County Fire Dispatch transmitted the box for a house fire located at 3239 Parkview Drive in Whitehall for a sofa burning in the living room.
Deputy Fire Marshal Bilder arrived on location and signaled a working fire. Lehigh County upgraded the box and dispatched Ladder 2 (Catasauqua), Rescue 11 (Greenawalds) and Air 32 (Woodlawn).
Chief of Department Dave Nelson arrived and grabbed the water can and darkened down the sofa that was inside the front door after the occupant of the house tried to remove the burning sofa. Engine 3811 arrived and stretched a hand line to back-up the Chief with the water can.
The Chief removed the sofa from the house. Firefighters checked for extension and ventilated the dwelling.
