William Allen High School in Allentown is dealing with another reported bomb threat Thursday, marking the third consecutive day the school has faced a bomb scare.
The latest incident follows separate threats reported Tuesday and Wednesday, prompting responses from Allentown police, school officials and fire department personnel.
Tuesday’s incident led to a response at approximately 12:56p.m. Police and school officials worked with the Allentown Fire Department to search the building. Authorities reported that no threat was found. A 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody in connection Tuesday’s incident and charged with terroristic threats, a third-degree felony, according to police.
The following day, officers were again dispatched to the school after another threat was reported by the resource officer at approximately 10:29a.m. Authorities worked to clear the building, but the search did not uncover a threat. Police said in a press release that a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old are being charged with terroristic threats, a felony.
Thursday’s report marks another disruption for the Allentown school community, raising further concerns about the repeated incidents and the resources required to respond to them. Students have since been returned to their classes.
Police have been investigating the earlier incidents. At this time, it has not been established whether all three reports are connected.
