Early Sunday morning, Fountain Hill police notified dispatchers of a car traveling at a high rate of speed on Broadway heading towards Bethlehem city near 4th Street.
Moments later, the officer said the car crashed at Broadhead Avenue and Broadway.
Bethlehem Engine 1 arrived and after assessing the scene upgraded the box to a rescue, sending Engine 3 and Ladder 1.
Multiple tools were used to cut the man out of the back seat of the car, which he was a passenger. The driver, working for Uber at the time, was able to get out of the car on his own.
At least 4 ambulances were on scene. It’s unkown if the driver of the car being pursued was in custody or injured. Early radio transmissions sounded like the officer said the driver bailed.
