A fire broke out around 7:00PM in the Upper County Early Learning Center located at 143 Rocky Ridge Road just outside of Quakertown Friday evening.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke billowing from the one-story wing of the school and fire inside one of the class rooms. The fire was immediately upgraded to a second alarm.
At one point after a good interior attack, the EVAC tones were sounded for the interior firefighters to evacuate the building.
A third alarm was struck for more manpower. It took an hour to bring the blaze under control. The building is owned by the Quakertown Christian School.
