Just before 2:00AM Tuesday December 10, 2024 Allentown Fire Dispatch transmitted box 5112 for a building fire reported at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Lehigh Street sending Engines 4, 9, 6, 14 (F.A.S.T.), Truck 2 and Battalion 43.
Engine 4 arrived and signaled a working fire in a 2-story large commercial building located at 411 Lehigh Street. Battalion 43 immediately commenced a defensive attack only on the fire and struck out the 2nd alarm. A third alarm was transmitted shortly after.
Firefighters battled this blaze well into daylight. Companies were being released around 8:00AM.
An Engine and ladder tower remained on the scene wetting down hot spots throughout the day.
