Tuesday afternoon, Whitehall Fire Department was sent to 3400 Center Street for an appliance fire in an apartment. Deputy Chief Bilder 35-3 arrives and reports nothing showing.
Upon further investigation and size-up, he signals smoke showing from the front door of a 1st floor apartment and instructs first due Engine 3 to stretch a hand line.
Second due Engine 4 brings a water supply for Engine 3. However, with the quick knock down Engines 3 crew did, the supply line didn’t need to be wet. Firefighters ventilated the apartment. A total of 3 Engines and 1 Truck were used for this fire. No injuries were reported.
