At approximately 4:40PM Sunday, Allentown transmitted box 4553 for 2041 Vine Street on an apartment fire sending Engines 11, 14, 9, 4, Truck 2 and Battalion 43 (Held).
Battalion 43 reported seeing smoke from the 8th Street Bridge. Engine 11 arrived and reported a working fire. Chief Held arrived and reported a good smoke condition pushing from the roof and had the 2nd alarm struck, sending in Engines 6, 10 and Air 1.
Firefighters stretched 2 hand lines to the third floor for a fire in the bathroom ceiling. Truck 2 members went to the roof to open up a vent hole. As they finished the cut, fire vented out of the hole.
Searches were completed and came up negative.
