Just before 1:30am Sunday morning, Lehigh County Pennsylvania 9-1-1 transmitted the Rescue box for 400 block of Fullerton Avenue for a car into pole sending Engine 2, Rescue 8, 5 and Medic 62.
Deputy Chief 35 (Shambo) arrived and reported a pole snapped and a female in the back seat of the sedan doesn’t appear trapped. Engine 2 arrived and stretched a booster line and assisted the medics removing the victim from the back seat. Rescue 5 (3941) arrived and provided support. The Fullerton Station 1 (LC36) did not respond due to insufficient manpower.
The female was transported by Medic 62 to a local hospital. The utility pole will need to be replaced.
