Allentown transmitted box 3231 (S. Bradford & E. Union) for a report of a house fire at E. Walnut and Bradford sending Engines 13, 6, 9, 14 (F.A.S.T.), Truck 2 (Truck 1) Battalion 43 (2-Held).
While responding to the fire, Battalion 2 reported black smoke from a distance and with that, the fire dispatcher advised that a second source reported people trapped on the 2nd floor. Battalion 2 had the 2nd alarm struck sending Engines 4, 10, Air 1, Car 41, 45 and 48.
Battalion 2 arrived and reported fire showing in the rear corner of a 3-story end-of-row. Engine 9 arrived first and went to the second floor for a search. The husband said she went back inside to get her cat. Engine 6 was right behind 9 and stretched a hand line to the first floor for a kitchen fire at the rear of the dwelling.
One female was still inside. Engine 9 conducted several searches and found the female unconscious on the second floor and removed her to Paramedics.
The female was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroners office. The cat did not survive the fire.
