At 07:33 Tuesday morning box 2744 was transmitted for 320 South Muhlenberg Street for a house fire sending Engines 10, 4, 9, 11 (F.A.S.T.), Truck 2 and Battalion 43.
Engine 9 was already on the road and arrived first-due ahead of Engine 10 and signaled a working fire on the first floor of the 1-story private dwelling. Engine 10 brought in a water supply for Engine 9. A hand line was stretched and the fire located in the kitchen was quickly darkened down.
The fire extended to the ceiling. A second hand line was stretched to the 2nd floor attic. The second alarm was sounded and Engines 6, 13 and Air 1 were dispatched.
Firefighters went to the roof and cut two vent holes to release the high heat in the attic to help interior crews. No injuries were reported. All photos by Mike Nester.
