Around 7:15AM Friday, Allentown transmitted box 3456 for 902 East Congress Street at the Royal Motel for a structure fire. The box assignment consists of Engines 13, 6, 9, 14 (F.A.S.T.), Truck 2 and Battalion 43.
Truck 2 went responding and advised from the road that he can see a header from American Parkway bridge. Engine 4 went responding as the special-call engine.
Engine 13 arrived to find fire venting from the front room of the 1-story motel and quickly stretched a line and darkened down the fire.
Crews went to the roof to open up to vent and check for fire extension. they found some fire in the roof. The room next to the fire room was also damaged.
A total of 3 lines were stretched and operating. The fire was held to the first alarm assignment with the additional Engine.
