Fully involved car fire blocks exit for Lowes in Whitehall...

At 21:30 hours, Whitehall engines 2, 11 and Rescue 8 take in a car fire at the exit for Lowes at Rt. 145 and Sutler Drive. Chief 35 arrives and transmits a working car fire. Engine 2 (West Catasauqua) arrives and stretches a 1 3/4 line. The car was towed and the scene cleared in about 40 minutes.

Bethlehem firefighters battle two alarm fire on Jill Street...

Around 20:30 hours, Bethlehem transmitted a box for 1509 Jill Street for a structural fire. Engines 5, 7 and ladder 2 respond. Engine 5 transmits heavy smoke from Stefko Blvd. enroute and fire dispatch announces multiple calls being received.
105 transmits a second-alarm. Crews find heavy fire from the car-port of a one-story duplex. Three lines are stretched and put into service. The fire spread to the cockloft and vented through the roof. No extension was reported to the exposure connected on side 4. However, the exposure on side 2 (not attached) received heat damage on the siding of the house. Under control was transmitted about an hour later.

A house fire was transmitted at 15:50 for 3231 S. 6th Avenue in Whitehall. Engines 4, 14, Squrt 3, Ladder 6 and Chief 35 (R. Benner) respond. Upon arrival, crews find smoke from the S/F/D with a fire in the basement. The electrical panel failed and started the fire. Engine 4 stretches one line to the basement as the electrical meter was pulled on the outside.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire and ventilated the home. The box was held to the first-alarm.

Allentown firefighters battle blaze on Tilghman Street in extreme heat...
Tuesday, July 6
The box was transmitted at 17:46 for Jordan & Tilghman, 384 Tilghman for a building fire. Engines 4, 6, 13, truck 2 and BC 3 (G. Scheirer) take in the box. Engine 4 was at the quarters of company 6 just a few blocks away and reported heavy smoke showing.
On arrival, engine 4 pulled on Jordan Street (Side B) and had heavy fire venting from the 1st floor windows of a three-story multiple dwelling, fully occupied. All hands went to work searching. BC 3 arrived and transmitted the second alarm for Engines 10, 14, 11, FM 3 (F. Scheirer), Chief 40 (R. Scheirer) and Air 1.
PD assisted the FD in the searches. All searches came up negative. Engine 4 stretched one line and knocked down the bulk of the fire while the other companies checked for extension and searched.

2nd Alarm fire heavily damages dwelling in Low Hill....

Just after 0130 hours Fogelsville 8 and Tri-Clover Engine 26 take in a house fire at 8124 Lark Street in Low Hill. Chief 8 has heavy fire showing on the horizon and strikes a second alarm. On arrival, crews find a 2-story S/F/D with heavy fire. Engine 8 goes to work first by blitzing the bulk of the fire with the deck gun. Crews eventually gain access and attack the fire in the attic from the second-floor and make excellent progress.
2nd alarm companies from Lehigh County are 17, 25, 56, 30, 1 & 32.

Just after 1200 hours a fire broke at Custom Particles company for a structural fire. Crews found a 1-story commercial fabricated building well-involved. Newsworking responded from Qaukertown on the second-alarm. We gained access to the scene, however, with heavy brush and trees surrounding the property, we could not get photos of the actual building. With limited water supply, tankers from the 5 county area responded to the scene to supply water.

With the temps rising above 97 degrees without including the heat from the flames, Philadelphia firefighters battle to stay cool at 34th and Indiana Avenue. Battalion 8 arrives at box 1662 and finds heavy fire through the roof of a 1-story 80 x 440 brick warehouse. As the flames consume the huge building, the fire escalates quickly to four alarms. A haz-mat box was transmitted initially because the fire was believed to be at the Sun Chemical Company located across the street from the fire building. Over 130 firefighters battle the blaze for over two hours before bringing it under control. The fire department remained on the scene well into the evening.

Lower Saucon Companies respond to a report of a house fire on Cannon Avenue. Command arrives on scene and reports a fully involved house at 2239 Forrest Hill Drive off of Rt. 378. The house was located up a long narrow driveway, making it difficult for apparatus to gain access. One engine made it in. Heavy fire consumed the garage of the attached duplex. A fire wall between the homes prevented the fire from spreading to the exposure.
