Around 22:30 Friday, Station 47, Medic 49 and Police responded to Cherryville Road and Locust Drive for a motorcycle v. car accident.
One person on the roadway was declared dead at the scene and another rider transported to a trauma center by air. The PennStar helicopter landed in the field next to the accident scene. The condition of the patient being flown was unknown.
It appears the motorcycle clipped the rear of the small SUV. The SUV has damage to the rear bumper. The motorcycle ended up on two wheels 75 feet from impact. The dead body lays covered with a sheet in the middle of the intersection.
