Northampton County Fire Dispatch transmitted the box at 07:17 for 943 Main Street near 10th Street for smoke in the residence sending stations 42, 45, 46, 15, Engine 43 and EMS 49.
The police arrive at 07:21 and report an electrical problem. Moments later Chief 42-51 arrives and reports heavy smoke showing and signals a working fire in a 2-story commercial at 07:23.
Command ordered Engine 42-12 to turn onto Bridge Street and go to the rear of the building. Ladder 46-21 positioned in front of the fire building. Engine 43-11 brought a water supply in from 9th and Main.
Two hand lines were stretched for a fire on the lower level of the building. When the fire was darkened down, companies opened up the building to vent the smoke. Command special-called two additional engine companies above the first alarm for manpower.
