At 09:56 Saturday, Allentown transmitted box 2263 for 521 N. Jordan Street on a house fire sending Engines 6, 9, 4, 13 (F.A.S.T.), Truck 2 and Battalion 43 (Kutz).
Engine 6 arrives and reports smoke showing from a 3-story middle-of-row while the fire dispatcher advises a caller says there’s fire blowing out the 1st floor rear kitchen area. Acting Battalion Chief (J. Kutz, Captain) arrives on scene and reports a working fire with possibly two homes involved. At 10:02 Battalion 43 strikes the second alarm. Engines 14, 10 and Air 1 are assigned to the 2nd alarm.
Two lines are stretched and an aggressive interior attack commences. The fire is quickly darkened down and crews start a search and check for extension. The homes on the exposures 2 and 4 side suffer extensive smoke damage. The initial attack holds the fire to the original fire building and all searches come up negative.
