Tuesday evening at 22:39, Lehigh County 9-1-1 transmitted a box for Cherry and Chestnut Streets in Coplay for a reported house fire with multiple calls.
Coplay Station 5 and Whitehall Engines 3 and 13 with Medic 62 were dispatched. The dispatcher advised responding units that the front porch of a house in the area was on fire.
We arrived before the Fire Department and noticed the homeowner concentrating a garden hose on the fire. Bushes and a few tires were burning at the corner of the yard. A police officer arrived moments after we did and extinguished the flames with an extinguisher. \
Coplay Engine 511 arrived and used a hand line to wet down the area and any hot spots. The balance of the box was recalled and the fire held to one engine.
