At 16:37 Saturday, Lehigh County Fire Dispatch sent Station 2, Engine 18 and EMS 75 to 206 Howertown Road for a dwelling fire. Initial reports were for a small fire in the bedroom. Assistant Chief 202 arrived on location and reported nothing showing at 16:39. After further investigation, at 16:41 Chief 202 reported an active fire in a second floor bedroom and smoke showing and requested a F.A.S.T. company be added to the box. Lehigh County alerted Rescue 11 (Greenawalds) as the designated F.A.S.T.
The first due engine (211) was ordered to bring water in from the hydrant at Wood and Howertown and then stretch a hand line with a fog nozzle to the second floor. Ladder 231 positioned in front of the fire building. The initial hose crew made a quick knock down of the fire and the box was held to the companies working.
