At 12:24 Lehigh County Radio dispatched Engines 2, 3, 13, 1, Ladder 6 to a report of a structural fire to the rear of Gilboy Ford on MacArthur Road. Police arrive and report a small building to the rear of the law offices at 2747 MacArthur Road with smoke coming from the eaves. Engine 3 (3831) arrives and stretches one hand line for a fire in the 1-story 15×25 building. They knock the fire within 10 minutes of arriving.
While companies were operating at this fire, another box was transmitted for 1400 Roberts Street on are report of a chimney fire. Engine 1 was diverted from the building fire. Engine 12, 4 and ladder 2 (Catasauqua) were also sent to the chimney fire. Engine 1 arrives and reports nothing showing and upon further investigation found wood burning in the wood stove and found it to be operating normally and held the box to 2 engines and recalled the balance of the box.
The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the building fire.
